Ware is situated  in the heart of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. Its location makes it perfect for  a wide range of activities to suit all ages and lifestyles including walking, cycling and golf.

Places of local interest include the following:

Ware to Hertford Riverside Walk

A beautiful riverside pathway for cyclists and walkers alike. It is a 5 3/4 mile loop that runs parallel along the River Lee between the two towns.


The Gazebos

The gazebos or Dutch summerhouses were built as early as the  17thCentury at the end of the gardens of former inns to give guests a respite away from the busy High Street. The Gazebos are located along the banks of the River Lee, close to the town centre and are a easily seen from the river footpath.


Ware Museum

The museum was established in 1986 and is located next to The Ware Priory. Admission is free.

Items on display reflect the rich texture and history of the town through the ages and into modern day.


Ware Priory

Built as a Franciscan Friary in the 14th century, the Priory now houses the offices of Ware Town Council. The Priory is located just off the High Sreet.

It has seven acres of riverside grounds, and is a very popular landmark in the town.


Ware Lido

Ware Priory Lido is a heated  outdoor swimming pool, It is open typically between May to September. seasonally, usually from mid May to early September. Lifeguards and a First Aider are on duty at all times.
